Ramallah, June 6, 2026 – The Palestinian Association of Accountants signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Faculty of Business and Economics at Al-Quds University, aimed at strengthening joint cooperation in developing the auditing profession in Palestine and advancing professional and academic competencies.

The memorandum was signed in the presence of Mr. Mohammad Akram Hassouna (Chairman of the Board), Mr. Samir Sahar (Vice President), and Mr. Ziad Bali (Board Member) representing the Association. From the Faculty side, participants included Prof. Ibrahim Awad (Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics), Dr. Akram Rahal (Head of the Accounting Department), along with faculty members Dr. Nidal Nirokh, Dr. Firas Barakat, and Dr. Kamel Abu Kuik.

Both parties discussed prospects for cooperation through implementing specialized training programs, organizing workshops and professional conferences in collaboration with the Accounting Department, thereby contributing to enhancing professional knowledge and keeping pace with modern developments in the fields of accounting and auditing.

 
 

The memorandum stipulates cooperation in developing the skills of accounting students by providing structured practical training opportunities in auditing firms and offices, which will strengthen their readiness to enter the labor market and bridge academic knowledge with professional applications. It also includes offering partial scholarships for Association members wishing to pursue graduate studies at Al-Quds University.

Mr. Mohammad Akram Hassouna, Chairman of the Association, affirmed that this step comes within the Association’s vision to expand partnerships with academic institutions, contributing to the preparation of a professional generation capable of keeping pace with modern developments and serving the national economy.
